The Platinum Jubilee

As one of Birmingham’s quintessential landmarks, we felt it only right to put on a truly regal celebration for the lady who has paid so many trips to our vibrant city during her reign. From 2nd – 4th June, The Cube will be transforming its space amidst a schedule of free events, celebrations and performances.
As part of the patriotic display, we will be hosting a travelling dance parade that will make its way around The Cube between 6pm – 9pm every hour on the hour. The dancers will be performing to the musical theme ‘Best of British’ music and will be blending a mixture of both choreographed routines and spontaneous interactions with the crowds they come across.
The dancers will reach their crescendo as the national anthem begins and a confetti cannon launches the colours of the Union Jack – a Jubilee-themed spectacle you won’t want to miss!
If a more traditional performance is your cup of tea, then you’ll be happy to learn that there will additionally be a stage show taking place outside of Rodizio Rico – also performing to the theme ‘Best of British’ music. This show will host local performers singing their hearts out to classics from Dusty Springfield to Amy Winehouse.
And camera phones at the ready as The Cube will be transformed with a wonderful display of decorations during the three days. From Union Jacks, The Queen’s guard statues, a royal throne, an organic balloon wall and a variety of other changes to the interior of our space here at The Cube – ideal for snapping the perfect patriotic pic.
