Photographer of the Year 2018 Shortlist
This year’s ‘The Cube Photographer of the Year’ competition, in partnership with the West Midlands Photography Collective and 2017 winner Fay Loewy, has come to an end, seeing an impressive 281 entries across the two weeks.
Open to photographers of all skill levels and ages, entrants were encouraged to get creative and share stand-out images of The Cube using the hashtag #cubephotocomp2018, to be in with a chance of being crowned ‘The Cube Photographer of the Year 2018’.
Since Sunday 18th November, the West Midlands Photography Collective has had the difficult task of picking a shortlist of just ten from the incredible images we received. Last year’s winner Fay said: “The shortlist is looking fantastic [and we are] really pleased with the amount and quality of entries we received. [There was a total of] 281 pictures from 114 individual photographers in the end!”
We are happy to reveal that the photographers making this year’s shortlist, in no particular order, are:
- Andy Smart (@colatron)
- Anwaral Haque (@and_still_landscapes)
- Chris Fletcher (@cpf_photography_birmingham)
- Ed Brown (@edbrownphoto)
- Imran Ali Bashir (@imranscope)
- Mohammed Ali (@mohammedali6561)
- Pete Davies (@petedaviesphoto)
- Sarah Muller (@sarahmullerphotography)
- Simon Williams (@simon_williams_)
- Steven Rabone (@steverabone)
The ten shortlisted images will now be judged by the architect behind The Cube, Ken Shuttleworth, who will announce the winning image for this year’s competition in early December.
Thank you to everyone who entered, all of the images captured were incredible and congratulations to those shortlisted, we look forward to seeing the overall winner.
