Local cyclists will be able to access free advice, servicing and repairs as iconic Birmingham landmark The Cube hosts two Big Bike Days.
Organised by Urban Cycles, the events – on 10th May and 14th June – enable people working in, or visiting, The Cube to bring their bike for a free health check.
The Big Bike Days will take place in the Atrium on Level 6 in The Cube from 8am till 6pm, with experienced Urban Cycles technicians on hand to offer advice and repairs.
Andi Smith, from Urban Cycles, said: “These events were a great success last year, helping hundreds of cyclists to get the best out of their bikes, and we are delighted that The Cube has offered to host two events this year.
“Each bike brought in on the Big Bike Day gets a full 43-point inspection, checking all working parts, inflating tyres to the correct pressure, and lubricating all pivot points, including chains. We also replace any worn out brake blocks and finally we check the gears are indexed correctly and everything is balanced as it should be.
“Whether you ride 100 miles a day or are just about to drag your bike from the deep dark recess of your shed, with the weather improving, now is the perfect time to get your bike checked over.”
Urban Cycles, based at the University of Birmingham, focus on supporting bike events, encouraging more people to take up cycling, delivering expert servicing and repairs, and can also help companies looking to provide pool bikes for their employees.
