Creation of the contemporary Midlands artist Temper, the artwork adorning The Cube is as iconic as the building itself.
 
Inspired by the people of the city he loves, Temper has created a series of sculptures exclusively for The Cube and dedicated to ‘the lovely people’ of Birmingham. Each of the 5 stand alone pieces immortalises a real person who has proven themselves to be an inspiration to others and a source of pride to the city. The beautiful, life size sculptures are situated across the 4 public street levels of the building, a daily, thought provoking reminder and celebration of the strength and goodness that can be found in each of us.
 
Temper was commissioned to provide artwork for The Cube after beating off strong opposition in a nationwide competition held by the building’s developer. His ‘the lovely people’ concept was chosen unanimously by the judges as a worthy centre piece to the main atrium.
