Ken on The Cube..

“Birmingham has never been shy about design and never been cautious about regenerating. It is a bold city that embraces development and welcomes culture.

The Rotunda and Selfridges Building have helped to give Birmingham a global identity that has been a fabulous platform for the city; The Cube is the next stage in this architectural story and is paving the way for the new library and station, it is a landmark that will become internationally recognisable, with its own presence and identity.

Birmingham is gradually emerging onto the stage for world class architecture and should continue to cement its status as a city that is proud of its buildings; much like Berlin and Barcelona are visited by millions each year for their bold and interesting architecture that has given them an undeniable cultural identity, Birmingham should continue to promote cultural dialogue and debate through its built environment.

We are thrilled with The Cube; it has delivered its vision and is indicative of both Make’s, and Birmingham’s ambition: to deliver on both a global and local scale.” – Ken Shuttleworth
