Celebrity Hairdresser opens the doors to £1.5 million salon at the cube - 07/10/11
Adee, whose client list includes David Beckham, Liam Gallagher, Sarah Harding and some secretive A'list movie stars, starred on Channel 4's 'The Salon' and is a leading name in the hairdressing world. Originally from Kings Heath, Adee's new Birmingham salon sees him returning to his roots as he plans to live on-site in one of the exclusive residential apartments at The Cube.
In preparation for the opening night, the 5,000 square feet canal-side space on the ground floor has undergone a £1.5 million luxury fit out to accommodate 30 work stations, as well as more quirky additions including everything from a giant yellow gorilla to a grand piano, ensuring every visit is an experience not to be forgotten. The salon looks to become the city's fashion Mecca, with celebs flocking to the star-studded ribbon-cutting event tonight.Adee comments: "Birmingham has evolved into a centre of style and fashion, so is the perfect place for me to expand outside of London. The Cube is an iconic building in the heart of the city providing the ideal image and location for my salon."
Neil Edginton, director at The Cube, comments: "Attracting a leading name such as Adee Phelan is a real coup both for The Cube and for Birmingham. His salon will be the perfect addition to our discerning leisure offering, and it's great to see it open its doors ready for the pre-Christmas rush!"Adee Phelan's salon is the latest addition to The Cube's growing portfolio, with the Marco Pierre White rooftop restaurant and Rodizio Rico Brazilian restaurant on level seven also currently under development. The Cube will also be home to Hotel Indigo's boutique hotel and spa and a Private Members Club and Bar - all due to be completed later this year.
Adee adds: "The opening of the salon in Birmingham is just the start. I hope to be involved in a number of local projects and to really become part of the city's ongoing transformation into a style and fashion destination. For me, this is where it all began and I can't wait to welcome the people of Birmingham to my salon."Nick Taplin, managing director at Sanguine Hospitality, said: "It's a very exciting time for The Cube and everything is coming together ahead of a flurry of openings sparked by Adee's opening. It adds another aspect to the complete leisure experience that we are able to offer our guests."
Adee Phelan's salon at The Cube is open Monday 11am-6pm, Tuesday 10am-7pm, Wednesday and Thursday 10am-8pm, Friday 10am-7pm, Saturday 9am-6pm, Sunday 12pm-5pm. For bookings please call 0121 643 7921 or email thecube@adeephelan.co.uk. To follow Adee on Twitter visit www.twitter.com/adee_phelanNews
